Description
This boom is designed for use on a wide variety of wave conditions and water current speeds. The boom can be used in salt water or direct sunlight for moderate periods without fear of corrosion or degradation of the fabric. The boom has 6” (15 cm) of freeboard and 8” (20cm) of draft for an overall height of 14” (35cm) or more and comes with 50′ (15 m) sections. Our General Purpose boom is made with high quality, high durability 22 oz. per square yard (550 gsm) international orange PVC fabric. This fabric has proven to be extremely effective on a wide range of booms in a variety of environmental conditions. The boom is sealed and manufactured using 100% radio frequency welding. Sections of the boom are connected using ECO connectors.
Floatation is provided by high buoyancy extruded closed-cell polyethylene foam floats. Ballast is provided by a 1/4” (6 mm) chain. All metal components in the boom are corrosion-resistant. The ECO-connectors are made of marine grade, and the ballast chain is galvanized steel.
