You can’t deny this!

Workplace safety becomes a non-negotiable and constant point of concern when it comes to working in an industry handling flammable liquids.

A single spark or unseen spill, a malfunctioning machine – any of these can cause minor incidents that can turn into a life-threatening uncontrolled situation. While keeping your workplace safe from such dangers requires a multi-layered process, one crucial element can be a good storage cabinet. This is where flammable safety cabinets come into the role – uniquely designed chambers to protect your employees and your business from various kinds of risks flammable liquids can cause.

What is a Flammable Safety Cabinet?

A flammable safety cabinet, or a flammable storage cabinet, is a specially designed storage unit used to safely store explosive liquids. These cabinets are built with fire-resistant materials, generally double-walled steel, and possess features to enhance your workplace security and reduce the danger of fire by storing flammable fuels, liquids, and chemicals in a flammable storage cabin.

Why Use a Flammable Storage Cabinet?

  • Prevention of Accidents- There is no certainty for accidental spills, leaks, or breakage when it comes to workplace safety. These ultra-tough, flammable safety cabinets help to keep chemicals organized and safe in storage boxes, ensuring safety and prevention from unnoticed incidents. So stay one step ahead and switch to flammable storage cabinets.

  • Organized Storage System—Flammable safety cabinets keep your chemicals organized and in the correct place and also help separate incompatible chemicals from being stored together. These cabinets are designed to differentiate all dangerous materials by labeling them, which makes it even more difficult to use the wrong chemical by accident.

  • Leak-proof – Leakage is a big concern when it comes to storing hazardous chemicals. Chemical leaks can harm facilities by causing numerous accidents if they go unnoticed. Our flammable safety cabinets are specially designed to safely collect leaks in an enclosed sump underneath the cabinet that collects drips for quick and easy disposal.

  • Explosion-Proof: High heat exposure can cause big explosions of chemicals in many scenarios, such as fire, etc, which makes it even more important to keep the flammable chemicals in safety cabinets. In this scenario, a flammable safety cabinet can help prevent and lessen the damage caused by the explosion.

  • Prevention of unauthorized access – Whether there is a new worker or any mischievous element (e.g animal) that can do possible harm, it becomes more necessary to restrict unauthorized individuals from having access to flammable chemicals. Our flammable storage cabinets all come with long-lasting self-latching doors that guarantee your door is never open, even if it partially opens accidentally.

For extra security, the door handles of these cabinets come with a built-in cylinder and key locks with additional padlock systems.

What Are the Different Types of Flammable Safety Cabinets?

Featured for easier handling having horizontal and vertical storage units, with or without automatic closing doors.

How Are Flammable Storage Cabinets Constructed?

Flammable cabinets are built to resist a 10-minute fire test. During the test, the cabinet doors should remain locked, and the internal temperature of the cabinet should not exceed 325ºF.

Highest capacity – Not more than 60 gallons can be stored in Class I or Class II liquids

For Class III liquids, more than 120 gallons of liquids is prohibited.

Fire resistance- Storage cabinets should be prepared and built on not more than 325 °F (162°C) internal temperature. All joints and seams should stay tight, and the door should remain securely locked during the fire test. Cabinets should be labeled in noticeable lettering, “FLAMMABLE — KEEP FIRE AWAY.” Metal cabinets made in the following manner should be considered to be in compliance. The top, bottom, sides, and doors of the cabinet should be at a minimum of 18 gage sheet iron and double walled with 1 1/2-inch air space. Joints should be fixed, welded, or created tight by some equally effective standards. The door should be equipped with a three-point lock, and the door sill should be presented at least 2 inches above the bottom of the cabinet.

What Are the Regulations for Flammable Safety Cabinets?

OSHA demands flammable cabinets to meet a few standards. So, the next time you order your flammable cabinet or decide the placement of the cabinet, be sure to follow OSHA’s conditions.
